The Kenya Kabaddi Union has named a provisional squad of 61 players in preparation for the upcoming Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025, scheduled to take place in March 2025. This marks an important step as Kenya aims to make a significant impact on the global stage.
The squad will begin training sessions on January 5th at the Kasarani Stadium Indoor Arena. Players are reminded of the following important guidelines:
- Failure to attend training sessions, exceeding the weight limit of 75 kg, or being declared medically unfit may result in removal from the squad.
- The Kenya Kabaddi Union reserves the right to make changes to the squad, including additions and removals, at its discretion.
- The provisional squad will be narrowed down to 20 players by January 20th, with the final 15 players selected for the World Cup.
- Selected players will proceed to a residential camp as part of final preparations.
Official call-up letters will be issued to the final squad, and players are encouraged to give their best effort during training.
World Cup 2025 to be Held in Bihar
The Women’s Kabaddi World Cup 2025 will be hosted in Bihar, India, with matches taking place at the indoor hall of the Rajgir Sports Academy. This prestigious event will feature participation from 14 countries, including: India, China, Japan, South Korea, Nepal, Pakistan, Iran, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Poland, Argentina and South Africa
This will be the second time Bihar hosts the Women’s Kabaddi World Cup, having previously held the event in 2012 at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna.
