The Kenya Kabaddi Union (KKU) is thrilled to announce the upcoming 2025 Kenya Kabaddi Workshop, a pivotal event aimed at empowering and certifying team managers, referees, and coaches. The workshop is scheduled to take place from 27th February to 1st March 2025 at the Kenya Academy of Sports and Kasarani Stadium.

E Prasad Rao, Technical Director for International Kabaddi Federation, will be a facilitator during the umpire kabaddi workshop, along with other esteemed facilitators from the International Kabaddi Federation.

This event promises a comprehensive blend of theoretical and practical training sessions designed to elevate the standards of kabaddi in Kenya.

Workshop Focus Areas

Participants will receive expert guidance on the following key areas:

  • Kabaddi Rules and Gameplay Basics: Foundational knowledge essential for managing and officiating matches.
  • Player Approaches and Tactical Strategies: Insight into coaching methods and effective team management.
  • Refereeing Techniques: Training on official signals, match conduct, and rule enforcement.

The workshop offers an array of benefits that will leave participants enriched and motivated:

  • Certification: Participants will receive official certification upon successful completion.
  • Networking Opportunities: Engage with kabaddi professionals, enthusiasts, and peers.
  • Grassroots Development: Formation of new teams with potential talent for national team selection.
  • Promotional Features: Institutions and participants will be featured in the Kabaddi Kenya Chronicles (published on 20th May 2025) and showcased on KKU’s official website.
  • Exclusive Interactions: Experience direct engagement with the Kenya Kabaddi National Teams and attend sessions of Kenya Kabaddi Premier League Season 2.

Logistics and Participation Details

  • Workshop Fee: Ksh. 3,500 per participant.
  • Participants: Responsible for their own transport, accommodation, and meals.

    • Whistles for refereeing practice
