A New Chapter in Kenyan Kabaddi
The Kenya Kabaddi Union (KKU) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the Kenya Kabaddi Premier League (KKPL) Season 2, marking the end of the most competitive, professionally organized, and widely supported domestic kabaddi league in Kenya’s history.
Running from 17 August 2024 to 19 July 2026, Season 2 became the longest and most comprehensive domestic kabaddi competition ever organized in Kenya. Throughout this historic campaign, clubs competed with passion, determination, and professionalism, helping elevate the profile of kabaddi both nationally and internationally.
As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this journey possible. Season 2 has demonstrated the tremendous growth of kabaddi in Kenya and laid an even stronger foundation for the future of the sport.

Competition Overview
The Kenya Kabaddi Premier League Season 2 featured 14 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams.
Both the men’s and women’s competitions were played using a double round-robin league format, ensuring every club had the opportunity to compete against every other club before progressing to the playoffs.
Following the regular season:
- The women’s competition concluded using a traditional playoff format.
- The men’s competition concluded using the unique KKPL Advanced Playoff Format, designed to reward consistency during the league stage while creating exciting knockout competition.

Bronze Medal Match
Kasarani Lioness defeated Kayole Divas 28–14 to secure the bronze medal in the Women’s Competition.

In a thrilling championship encounter, JKUAT Starlets defeated UON Tigress 24–19 to be crowned the Kenya Kabaddi Premier League Season 2 Women’s Champions.

The top eight clubs qualified for the Men’s Advanced Playoffs.

Githurai Cheetahs 33 – 31 Black Falcons
The championship match lived up to every expectation, producing one of the most exciting kabaddi matches ever played in Kenya.
After an intense contest, Githurai Cheetahs edged Black Falcons 33–31 to become the Kenya Kabaddi Premier League Season 2 Men’s Champions.

The Finals attracted an incredible 3,332 spectators, making it the highest-attended local kabaddi event in Kenya’s history.
The event was more than a championship—it was a celebration of the growth of kabaddi in Kenya. Supporters filled the venue from morning until evening, creating an electric atmosphere that showcased the passion and enthusiasm surrounding the sport.

Alongside Season 3, the Kenya Kabaddi Union will launch the KKPL Division Two Super League, creating a structured pathway for emerging clubs and expanding competitive opportunities across the country.
