Enter a club, bring kabaddi to a school, train as a referee or coach, or back the league. Every route starts with a call or an email to the Union.
Enter a club
Season 3 of the Premier League is expected in late January 2027, alongside the new KKPL Division Two Super League for emerging clubs.
- Tell the Union your club’s name, whether it plays men’s or women’s kabaddi, your county and a contact person.
- Entry terms and fees for Season 3 and Division Two have not been published yet — ask for them when you get in touch.
- Existing clubs: send an up-to-date squad and crest, and your club page on this site will carry them.
Bring kabaddi to your school
The Kenya Junior National Kabaddi Championship brings primary, junior secondary and secondary schools together at the Kenya Academy of Sports.
- The 2026 championship had six categories: boys and girls at primary, junior secondary and secondary level.
- 2026 entry terms were: at least 12 players per team, up to 3 officials per school, KES 500 per participant, boys at 70 kg and under, and proper kabaddi kit and shoes.
- Terms for the next championship have not been published. Teachers who want to start the game can ask the Union for help.
Referee, coach or volunteer
The Union trains its own umpires and coaches, and the league runs on its volunteers.
- The Level 1 umpire and referee certificate course, run with the International Kabaddi Federation, certified more than 25 people in April 2024.
- The annual clinic is a three-day certificate course in rules, refereeing, coaching and injury management.
- Dates for the next courses have not been announced. Register your interest to hear when they open.
Play for a club — or for Kenya
Clubs recruit their own players; the national teams are picked from the league.
- Start at a club: the club pages list every Premier League side the Union has on record.
- National squads are chosen on performance and attendance at national-team training, with a provisional squad named before major championships.
Sponsor or partner
Season 2 filled Kasarani with 3,332 people for the finals and streamed every one of its 244 league matches.
- Club and league sponsorship, kit, venues and travel for the national teams are all ways in.
